![]() ![]() RELATED: E3 2021: The Biggest Playstation E3 Reveals Of All Time Though there'll still be a host of reveals, a lack of major platform support certainly won't help E3 get back on its feet. Should 2023 go as planned, the event will be returning to in-person showcasing this year - though bearing quite a few scars from the tumultuous preceding years, most notably with due to the fact that Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo have withdrawn from the show. Whilst a digital E3 went ahead in 2021, an online E3 was again canceled in 2022. The in-person show was canceled along with the online event meant to replace it. Then in 2020 came the COVID-19 pandemic, stopping the event in its tracks. Despite the occasional disastrous presentation (notably whenever motion controls have gotten involved), E3 chugged along - enveloped with hype every time it came around. Aside from a brief 2007-2008 period where E3 was branded as the 'E3 Media and Business Summit' with a more limited venue to limit participation outside of press and retailers, E3 remained a major event with a level of public accessibility. The first E3 event back in 1995 was a hit, seeing major reveals such as a near-final version of the N64 as well as the price and release date for the Playstation. ![]()
